About Me

Ramesha Jayaneththi serves as a lecturer at the Department of History, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. After her BA Hons in Modern History at Peradeniya, she went on to read for a Research Master's Degree programme in Modern Indian Studies at the CeMIS, University of Goettingen, Germany. As part of the MA programme, she also studied for one semester at the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University of India. Ramesha has been able to obtain an MPhil degree in History from the University of Peradeniya. Now she is reading her PhD at the Institute for Social Movements, Ruhr University of Bochum, Germany. Her research interests are nationalism, historiography, identity politics and Buddhist Temple lands.
